Introduction

The Parish comprises an area bounded by the River Severn, the Blackpool, Soudley and Bideford brooks. Encompassed within these boundaries are the villages of Awre, Blakeney and the hamlets of Etloe, Gatcombe, Two Bridges and Viney Hill – 86% of the population being in and around Blakeney village as this is on the main A48 road leading from Chepstow to Gloucester.
